Belleville

Belleville Rendez-Vous has been an important film for Eli. So we had fun mimicking it this evening mending my bicycle in the kitchen!

We then acted out the storm scene in the bath with Eli singing note for note the line from the soundtrack which is Mozart's Requiem. Me? Impressed.

The End of Winter? Lavers.

Beautiful frost everywhere. Eli asked if Jude's Grandmother's bones were stored in the cupboard in the kitchen ceiling. He also has started realising that he can direct his brain to think about things he choses...

Swimming

3 generations of Gathercole male made for a manly swim today. Eli's new discovery: swimming under water with goggles on.

We had a great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa here. Then, after they left, the cat got scared and jumped out of the window. We live on the 3rd floor! Fortunately she jumped out of the only window that overlooks a neighbour's balcony and equally fortunately she landed on the balcony. One expensive out of hours vet consultation later she is, apparently, fine.

McDonalds

Today was the first time I heard the word McDonalds from Eli's lips...

"Noah said he got his Ben Ten toys from Old MacDonald's"

That's a gem.

Love

Eli has a new bedroom. His old room has become the study and the former study his new room. Jude and Ben came round for more weekend antics.



Heard just now - "i love you Fleur, and I love myself" !

Twelfth Night

New Year's Day

A fantastic day with Jude and Ben. Light sabers, talking, eating and a walk in the dark. A bit like Lavenham in London. Found a frozen dead frog in the tadpole pond and in the park at the top of Hillway an owl flew low over our heads. The first time any of us had seen an owl in the wild!


Une journee super avec Jude et Ben. Ils passaient pour une tasse de the ce matin et sont restes pour deux repas. Tres sympa! Ah la vie! des beaux moments et les moments de tristesses qui s'ajoutent a notre vie! (je pense a mon tonton! et ma mamy! et je pense au temps qui passe! et j'espere que le temps apaise la peine... ) - La fin de l'annee m'apporte la nostalgie. .... Vivement le printemps!
